A review of Roche Group’s development in property and tourism will quickly convey the vision for excellence that is Roche Group’s signature. Bill Roche’s passion for property began in the early 1960's during the time he and his wife Imelda Roche operated the Nutrimetics business in Australia, which went on to become the most profitable of the iconic American Company’s multi-million dollar international businesses. So much so, that the Roche’s acquired the entire Nutrimetics Organisation in 1992 before selling it to Sara Lee six years later. Imelda Roche is internationally recognised for her outstanding achievements in business, which include an appointment by Prime Minister Paul Keating as Australia’s representative to the Business Forum of the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-Operation (APEC), and subsequently by Prime Minister John Howard as a representative to the successor organisation, the Business Advisory Council to APEC. In 1995 both Bill and Imelda received the Order of Australia in recognition of their contributions to business and commerce, and in 1997, Imelda was recognised in a ceremony in Paris as one of the 50 leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World. After the sale of the Nutrimetics Organisation, Roche Group turned its focus to Leisure and Tourism and Residential Development, commencing with Hunter Valley Gardens which brought to life Bill’s vision of a truly international garden being developed in Australia. Taking five years to complete, the Gardens were opened in October 2003. This 25 hectare multi-award winning international display garden is believed to be the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and cost over $80 million to develop. The attraction now incorporates accommodation, a retail village and the award-winning Roche Wines.
Situated on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Harrington Waters has been progressively developed since the early 1970’s. This master-planned community is set in an idyllic location amongst pristine national parks and beautiful beaches. The 170 hectare development comprises approximately 1100 home sites, a shopping centre and a range of stunning community facilities.
After acquiring the property in the 1980’s, Roche Group proudly launched its jewel-in-the-crown in 2005. Calypso Bay, a master-planned $1 billion luxury waterfront community, is located on 270 hectares at Jacob’s Well on Queensland’s northern Gold Coast. When complete, Calypso Bay will be home to an estimated 3,500 people with approx 1400 homes and 140 apartments fronting a 300 berth marina and waterfront shopping and entertainment village. Residents will also enjoy a stunning 9 hole dual tee golf course surrounded by extensive open space and parklands.
With more first-class projects underway and an uncompromising commitment to quality, Roche Group is today recognised as one of Australia’s premier development companies. It is currently planning future developments including over 10,000 residential lots.
